Book Review – August 2022 – Flase Alarm

We are in the midst of a climate panic, fuelled by the media and by politicians, rather than by the science. Global warming is real, but it ain’t Armageddon. Did you know that there aren’t more wildfires and flooding, just more houses in the way? That polar bears are on the increase, the problem being hunting rather than climate? That an area twice the size of the USA has greened in recent decades? That the Paris Agreement, IF acted on, would result in only .05F being knocked off the projected temperature increase by the end of the century? And that wind farms, solar panels and electric cars make very little difference. That cold kills far more people than heat, so for now global warming will save lives. And that humans are very capable of adapting. The second part of this book offers more realistic solutions in terms of carbon taxes, innovation, nuclear power and adaptation.
