Linda’s poem – Just an observation

Why my three solar powered
nodding Buddhas
don’t flap their fans anymore
is anyone’s guess

Yes…sad but true
even when it’s sunny now they’re still
which is a real shame
because
when they were proactiv
the sound they made was so attractive
quietly in the background
reassuring
like a cat’s purr or a dog rhythmically snoring

yet another of life’s conundrums
upon which to idly ponder
as one is wont to do

maybe it’s symbolic
because they’re annoyed
I’m an alcoholic
but perhaps that’s just me
being paranoid
who knows

meanwhile
have replaced their familiarly comforting sound
with that of drumming fingers
tapping toes
